A sliding scale applies to most of our services. Some programs are free of charge.
In-Home Therapy Services In-Home Therapy services are available to children, adults, families, and couples of Clay, Platte, and RayCounties. A sliding scale is available for clients with a lack of insurance coverage, inability to qualify for other services, insurance or MC+/Medicaid plans that have been exhausted or that do not cover in-home therapy at the level needed, or extremely high deductible plans that present a financial barrier to the client receiving therapy. Outpatient Therapy Outpatient therapy is delivered to children, families and individuals by professionals with specializing in:
School Resource Counseling Service This service provides school districts a variety of different counseling services to help students who are experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, family or academic problems. All services are tailored to meet each districts requirements and can include: individual counseling (problem solving or dealing with self esteem), group counseling (help students manage their behavior or social skills), case management (assist school officials with referrals and resources), classroom guidance (classroom lessons or presentations), and family therapy sessions, teacher consultations (available to teachers to discuss managing classroom behaviors). Currently Healthy Families serves the Lawson R-XIV school district.
Tender Beginnings Tender Beginnings is a voluntary home visitation program aimed at supporting vulnerable, first-time parents beginning at their child’s most rapid and significant development phase of life, from birth to age five. Services are available without charge to parents. Investing in the health, early stimulation and nurturing of children born at-risk of poor outcomes, Tender Beginnings provides in-home support, education and resources to promote child abuse prevention and neglect, and healthy families. Tender Beginnings PLUS Tender Beginnings PLUS is a voluntary program aimed at helping couples build relationship skills while supporting them as parents during their new child’s most rapid and significant developmental phase of life, birth to age three. A healthy marriage provides amazing benefits for children. More
BraveHearts Program For Dads BraveHearts is a fathering initiative deisgned to provide an array of services to at-risk fathers. Through a workshop series, fathers learn the important role they play, how to be an active father, and positively contribute to their children's lives and well being. Case management services are provided to aprticipants who desire to improve their economic circumstances. Upon workshop completion, graduates receive father-to-father mentoring provided by a positive male role madel who encourages them to reconnect and stay connected to their children. Monthly activities are planned for dads, their children, and mentor with peer support from other program participants.
BraveHearts goals include reducing risks of child abuse and neglect, incresing father-child involvment and improving a father's financial capacity, all in the pursuit of raising happy, healthy children into adulthood.
BraveHearts Training for Professionals BDesigned for professionals working with men who are voluntarily, or by court order, seeking a better relationship with their children.
Our professional staff is available throughout the year to provide consultations and presentations to agencies, groups and organizations in the communities in which we serve and beyond.
